The stuff that is missing is: arp, good routing, and the socket interface (via pr_usrreq hook in the protocol switch table). Has anyone given much thought to the semantics of how sockets should be used when talking ax.25? The IP stuff will remain pretty much the same, but I want to keep the ability to connect to non-ip packet bbs's. The intent is to run a modified telnetd (using the ax25 protocols) to allow incoming connections. glenn/ve6rsx ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 7 Sep 1994 22:34:27 -0600 From: Bdale Garbee Subject: ax25 on bsd To: davis@denali.realtime.ab.ca (Glenn Davis) In article <199409080205.UAA01070@denali.realtime.ab.ca> you wrote: : The IP stuff will remain pretty much the same, : but I want to keep the ability to connect to non-ip packet bbs's. The other good reason for AX.25 as AX.25 in the kernel, accessible to user processes, is the cool bits written for the Linux AX.25 driver to do Microsat stuff without having to slip back into DOS-dom... I haven't thought about this, and don't have time to right now (P3D GPS is consuming lots of my time right now), but can't wait to see the results... :-) 73 - Bdale, N3EUA ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 08 Sep 94 08:47:37 EST From: BARRY TITMARSH Subject: wampes 940805 and gcc-4.5.8 libc-4.5.26 To: Olaf Erb dc1ik , I have just upgraded to new LINUX Install slack 2.00 useing gcc-4.5.8 and lib's 4.5.26 i now find that the net binary after 4/5 mins of run time is takeing ALL available CPU time ie is takes 98% of free time. This did not happen on gcc-4.5.8 + lib's 4.5.24 ?? Idears ? Thanks Barry. PS. the other linix boxes here are ok but with the older lib's same config same PC hardware. ------------------------------ End of TCP-Group Digest V94 #197 ******************************
